Eugene Gouws, a qualified Civil Engineer and member of the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) and South African Institute of Draughtsmen (SAID) started the company in 2000 as a professional draughting service, registering the name Micromatica 907 (Pty) Ltd in 2002. 

He has been involved in the civil engineering industry since 1994, working on numerous projects in Gauteng and Mpumalanga on civils, architectural, mining and general design. He operates on both AutoCAD and TechnoCAD and has experience in optimising desk and field data capture, QA, compiling hydraulic simulation and calibration models.

The tendering process and all its financial and staffing, time and project management and workflow processes are handled by Micromatica.

Due to a demand for trained AutoCAD draughtsmen, Micromatica started its Training Academy in 2006 and became a reseller of AutoCAD systems in 2007.

Barbara Gouws joined the company in 2004 as the Administrative manager and accountant. Today, Barbara also oversees the Training Academy.

Based in Centurion, the company employs 12 permanent staff and has access to 8 contract staff for large projects.
